Beskrivning: After the fall of the Soviet Union Russia has entered into a stage of legal transition, a process that concerns in principle all areas of law. This study takes its starting point in the constitutional transition of Russia. The courts of general jurisdiction and their role in the democratisation process will be studied, especially the judicial protection rendered to individuals. The approach is legal-social, therefore also attitudes and perceptions of the Russian court system will be studied and accounted for. Is the judiciary being used by Russian citizens to manifest discontent with public policy? If so, by whom and under what conditions?

Beskrivning: Det är en språkvetenskaplig avhandling, närmare bestämt inom översättningsvetenskap/psykolingvistik. Jag gör en långtidsstudie av tre översättarstudenter (ryska/svenska) och deras utveckling som översättare under 5 års tid. Tonvikten ligger på kartläggningen av själva processen, dvs hur översättarna arbetar och hur de förändrar sitt sätt arbeta under dessa år. Resultaten av studien ska bl.a. visa hur den mentala processen att översätta går till och vilka faktorer bidrar till att den resulterar i kvalitativt goda översättningar. Studien ska ge pedagogiska vinster, som ska kunna
användas för att utveckla utbildningen av översättare allmänt, eftersom
resultaten förväntas ha relevans för all översättning, inte bara för
språkparet ryska och svenska.
Arbetet har pågått i ca 5 år. Disputation blir det förhoppningsvis hösten/vintern 2003.
